City Council Honors Hustead for Service to Community

Menifee Mayor Scott Mann on Wednesday presented a proclamation of appreciation on behalf of the City for the hard work and dedication of local resident Ed Hustead.

A World War II veteran, Hustead for years has served as commissioner of the Menifee Senior Softball League, in which seniors from areas as far away as Fallbrook and Riverside compete weekly at Wheatfield Park. Council member Greg August, who said he played in the league for 13 years, also expressed his appreciation for what Hustead has done for seniors in the area.

"I've never been associated with a finer gentleman than you," August said.

Hustead was joined at the front of Council Chambers by many of the local players in his league.
