The Menifee Police Department conducted a specialized Motorist Safety Enforcement Operation and cited 71 drivers for unsafe driving actions.
On Jan. 5, officers patrolled areas of Menifee where crashes frequently occur. They were specifically looking for motorist committing unsafe driving actions that lead to crashes.
Of those drivers cited, three were operating their vehicles either unlicensed or with a suspended license and had their vehicles impounded.
Menifee Police will continue to be busy on the streets this week. On Jan. 10, between the hours of 7 p.m. to 3 a.m., the police department's DUI Enforcement Team will be deployed.
The DUI Enforcement Team will be in areas with high frequencies of DUI collisions and/or arrests, looking to stop and arrest alcohol and drug-impaired drivers.
"This is a 'Zero Tolerance' crackdown so 'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over!" Sergeant Strang said. "Always designate a sober driver."
