The Menifee Citizens Advisory Committee -- a group originally created to give citizens input on the incorporation of the city -- has been reorganized to include representatives from four community advisory boards that serve the City Council.
At its Jan. 7 meeting, the council voted unanimously to adopt a resolution creating a new Citizens Advisory Committee that will include eight members. The commmittee will be made up of two representatives each from the Youth Advisory Committee; Senior Advisory Committee; Parks, Recreation and Trails Commission; and Planning Commission. These representatives will be appointed to the new committee by their respective committees.
Each member will serve for a one-year term. According to the resolution passed by the City Council, the Citizens Advisory Committee will make recommendations to the City Council, "implementing Community Development Block Grant directives related to city projects, events and public service programs."
The purpose of the committee, as stated in the resolution, is to encourage public input in the determination of city policies and procedures.
