Having been in business for over 33 years, Menifee Bicycles firmly believes that giving back to the community is a major component of running a family business. They have built their business on the principle of helping people one on one to find what they need. Beyond the scope of their everyday friendly service, one of the ways Menifee Bicycles does their little bit of good is by working with an organization called Odyssey Teams that gifts bikes to children in need all over the world. Since the beginning of their involvement over 12 years ago, Menifee Bicycles has helped supply over 17,000 bicycles to deserving kids across the globe.
In helping to run the Odyssey Life Cycles program Menifee Bicycles owner Craig Cooper has been to Europe, Canada, Mexico, and 44 states to name a few, to facilitate their mission. The original program where teams build bikes for children was meant to act as an example of the ripple effect that comes from paying it forward. More than just “building a bike”, the Life Cycle of creating something valuable and passing it on to the end user exemplifies the value of collaboration, customer-centricity, and teamwork.
“I can’t explain how rewarding it is to see their faces light up (when they see their very own bike for the first time),” Craig shares.
