The Lake Elsinore Genealogical Society will be hosting a seminar that will include two presentations.
On Feb. 7, Mary Anne Vincent will make a presentation called "Civil War Widows Pensions" at 11 a.m. Vincent is a 20 year member of the Delaware Genealogical Society, a ten year member of the Corona Genealogical Society and has served on its Board of Directors for seven years.
She has recently completed a book on one link of her father's side of the family which was published by CreateSpace and can be found on Amazon.com.
At 1 p.m., Jean Wilcox-Hibben, PHD, MA, CG, will host a presentation called "Fun with Citing Sources." She is the Director of the Corona Family History Center and a Board Member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (and Past President of the Southern California Chapter.) Wilcox-Hibben served as lead researcher on the PBS television program "Genealogy Roadshow" in 2013. She is the Vice President for the Genealogical Speakers Guild and serves on several other genealogical societies and alliances. She maintains a website with information about her presentations, CDs, projects, etc. at www.circlemending.org.
The seminar will run from 10:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mission Trail Community Library which is located at 34303 Mission Trail, Wildomar, CA 92595. The event will be free, but seating is limited. For further information, send an email to jandcpetersen@roadrunner.com.
