A Menifee woman was arrested for DUI and hit-and-run after the vehicle she was driving side-swiped a parked patrol unit and fled the scene of a DUI check, police said.
During a DUI Saturation Patrol by Menifee police on Friday, 58 vehicles were stopped. After Crystale Terry, 27, of Menifee fled the scene in a white Chrysler, police pursued and the vehicle was stopped. According to police, the suspect was found to be under the influence of alcohol. She was booked into the Southwest Detention Center.
The officer who initially attempted to stop the vehicle escaped the collision without injury.
In a separate enforcement stop last Friday, Menifee officers detained a green Honda that was occupied by three young Hispanic male adults and one 17-year-old Hispanic male. Immediately, officers were able to detect the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. All occupants of the vehicle were removed for further investigation.
While searching the 17-year-old juvenile, officers located a loaded firearm concealed on his person. The juvenile was arrested on the scene.
Police were able to determine that the driver was not impaired and was released at the scene. The driver told police that he and his passengers were on their way to a party before they were pulled over by the police.
