Menifee AYSO Boys Team Heading to Sectional Playoffs

The Menifee AYSO boys U10B won the area championship, maintaining their undefeated record this season.

On Dec. 14, the soccer team, comprising of boys under 10 years old, defeated the Corona team, 2-0. The victory moves them into the sectional playoffs, facing teams from Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties. Menifee will represent section 1 in the sectionals, that will be held in Riverside. The winner of the sectionals, moves on to state playoffs, which will be held in San Diego this year.

"This season was special because all 10 boys played in every game and we have only been behind by a goal for 10 minutes (this season)," said head coach Aaron Evans

Under Coach Aaron Evans and his assistant Tim Linehan, the Menifee team was 10-0 during the regular season and have won nine more in postseason, giving them a 19-0 record overall.

"The boys have become like brothers," Coach Evans said. "It is really a unique group that trusts each other to make plays which creates a fun style of soccer to watch."
