Lighting Contest Extends Deadline, Offers More Prizes

Good news for Menifee residents still out there stringing their Christmas lights: The deadline for the Menifee Holiday House Decorating Contest has been extended, and local businesses are donating some great prizes!

We've received some wonderful entries already, but many have asked for more time to complete their decorations. So instead of cutting off entries today, residents will have until Dec. 15 to enter. Then winners will be presented their prizes and certificate of appreciation at the Dec. 17 Menifee City Council meeting!

In addition to a certificate presented them at the city council meeting, winners will receive a $50 gift card from one of our local businesses, plus a City of Menifee Pride Package including a tote bag, hat, USB car charger, gift cards for great treats like pizza and frozen yogurt, and more. A photo of winners' decorated houses will also be posted on Menifee 24/7 along with the address at which residents can drive by and enjoy the festive light displays.

Menifee 24/7 is partnering with the City of Menifee in sponsoring this contest. All you have to do is take a photo of the outside of your house with all the decorations, then email the photo with a description of your decorations and your address to menifee247info@gmail.com by Dec 15.

Winners will be announced on Menifee 24/7 and at the Dec. 17 city council meeting in six categories:

Best in show: The house with the best overall presentation for the holiday season.

Most spiritual: A decorated house that best illustrates the spiritual aspect of the season.

Most humorous: Make us laugh and you might win this category!

Best use of lights: The house that shines above all others with its lighting effects.

Most festive: Capture the imagination and cheer of the holiday season and you're a potential winner here.

Community/block theme: Get together with your neighbors and decorate your block or community with a holiday theme. You could be the winner!

Remember, you must submit your contest entry in the form of an email to menifee247info@gmail.com with your name, a .jpg photo, description of your decorations and your complete address. Your house will be judged in what our judges determine is the most appropriate category or categories.

Resident who submit photos and their address in this contest give their permission for Menifee 24/7 and the City of Menifee to publicize that information in the event your entry is a winner. Names will not be included unless requested by the homeowner.
