Lake Elsinore Traffic Collision Results in Major Injuries

Sheriff's deputies from the Lake Elsinore Police Department were called onto the scene of a traffic collision that resulted in major injuries.

On Dec. at 12:30 p.m., a collision occurred between a red Honda Civic and a pickup truck pulling a travel trailer. The accident took place at the intersection of Whispering Willow Drive and Canyon Hills Road.

The Honda's engine briefly caught on fire and the occupants of the vehicle had to be extricated by the fire department. The three male occupants of the Honda, all residents of Lake Elsinore, had to be transported to a local hospital for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Two of the three occupants had serious head trauma, according to the police report.

The occupants of the pickup truck escaped the collision uninjured.

The intersection remained closed for several hours while deputies conducted an investigation to determine the cause of the collision.
