Canyon Lake Celebrates Annual Boat Parade of Lights

After a strong rainstorm swept through southern California and postponed Canyon Lake's Golf Cart Parade, the annual Christmas Boat Parade of Lights went on as scheduled.

Despite the cold weather, the parade was able to launch as planned Saturday night.

Because of runoff from the rain and higher than normal water levels in the lake, some of the larger boats had trouble making it through the tunnel that runs under Canyon Lake Drive.

The decorations of the boats ranged from single light-strands to elaborate displays using items such as inflatables. One boat, even used propane to shoot out fire.
