This particular study does require volunteers to be at least 18 years old who do not suffer from any of the following conditions:
HIV
Diabetic Neuropathy
Trigeminal Neuralgia
Hepatitis B
Hepatitis C
Epilepsy
COPD
Bipolar Disorder
Pregabalin has been widely used by adults for the treatment of different
types of neuropathic pain, epilepsy, generalized anxiety disorder
and/or fibromyalgia.
The nerve pain study will test the effectiveness and safety of
Pregabalin against a placebo in patients who suffer from post-traumatic
peripheral neuropathy.
The study will be double blind, meaning neither the patient or doctor
administrating the trial will know which patients have been given the
placebo or study drug.
Pregabalin has not been approved by the FDA to be used for the treatment of chronic post-traumatic peripheral neuropathic pain.
