Temecula Preparatory School launched their second Science-Technology-Engineering-Arts-Math (STEAM) project called "Small Fry to Go".
Approximately 2,000 rainbow trout eggs were delivered to the Winchester campus "labitat" on Oct. 24. Students will care for and observe the fish until they are large enough to be released into their natural habitat, which will be in approximately six weeks.
The project is tailored to for students in kindergarten to the eighth grade, however students in grades nine through twelve will participate in the basic care of the fish and mentoring the younger students.
"Small Fry to Go" is STEM/science project that has been nationally recognized by Congress. It provides students with a rigorous science curriculum combined with hands-on experience.
