Paloma Valley High School's football team will open the Inland Division playoffs on the road, playing a 7 p.m. game at Rancho Verde High in Moreno Valley Friday night.

The CIF Southern Section office announced Sunday that the Wildcats (6-4) will be paired up with the Mustangs, who finished second to Riverside Poly in the Inland Valley League and are 8-2 overall. Rancho Verde lost to Heritage in the 2013 CIF Central Division finals.

Paloma Valley beat Temescal Canyon Friday night, 42-35, to earn the playoff berth. Rancho Verde finished the regular season with a 28-7 win over Arlington.
