Throughout the school year, Menifee 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Paloma Valley High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select one athlete based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. Here are the Paloma Valley High School Athletes of the Week for the week of Nov. 10:
For the fifth time in six races this season, Michael Arreola turned in a team best time during the Sunbelt League Finals meet at Diamond Valley. His time of 16:11 was good for an individual third place and paced the team to an overall win in the meet.
Hannah Doty took third place for the girls cross country team at the league finals, helping the Wildcats win their sixth consecutive league title.
Raine Kaheaku Paiva started much of the season for the Wildcats football team. He finished the regular season with 1,378 and 14 touchdowns passing along with 653 yards and 9 TDs rushing.
Jake Newton also played quarterback for Paloma Valley, passing for 578 yards and 5 touchdowns, in addition to playing wide receiver.
Volleyball player Brenna Sullivan stepped in for an injured player had 4 kills in a playoff match for the Wildcats.
These athletes are the last fall sports athletes to be honored by Menifee 24/7. Winter sports athletes will be honored beginning in December.
