80-Year-Old Menifee Man Arrested in Death of Woman

An 80-year-old Menifee man was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of an elderly woman on Saturday, police said.

Officers from the Menifee Police Department responded at 12:22 p.m. to the report of an injured elderly female inside a home in the 27000 block of Calle Ladera in Menifee. The woman was treated at the scene by medical personnel and transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead as a result of her injuries.

The woman's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Thomas Peterson of Menifee was arrested and booked into Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of homicide. No further details were released.
