From The Heart, a Temecula based non-profit, presented two veterans with motorized wheelchairs on Oct. 10th, during the Sunset Jazz & Wine Festival, at the Menifee Valley campus of Mt. San Jacinto College.
Perry Roth, 90, of Sun City served in the Navy in World War II. Ernest Trinci, 82, of Hemet served in the marines during the Korean War. Both were announced by Judy Harter, president of From The Heart, as the lucky recipients, along with a third candidate who was unable to attend the festivities. The third veteran will receive his chair soon.
The Menifee Valley Jazz Ensemble and the Lakeside High School Jazz band provided the entertainment for the day.
Proceeds from the festival, will be used to create a Mt. San Jacinto College Foundation Veteran's Scholarship. Those who would be interested, can sponsor a current Mt. San Jacinto Veteran for $30 by contacting the Mt. San Jacinto College Foundation at 951-487-3171.
