Suspect in Series of Robberies Arrested in Romoland

Members of the Menifee Robbery Suppression Team spotted a black Jeep Liberty driving east on Highway 74 and matching the description of a vehicle used in several recent armed robberies in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. The jeep was stopped and the driver of the vehicle matched the description of the suspect in the series of robberies.
A search of the Jeep was conducted and inside were a semi-automatic handgun and miscellaneous clothing that matched the gun and clothing captured on security video taken during the robberies.
Carlos Armando Chavira was arrested on several counts of robbery, conspiracy and a felon in possession of a firearm. Chavira was wanted for several recent armed robberies in Menifee, Perris, Hemet, Ontario and San Bernardino.
Chavira was booked into the Southwest Detention Center and bail has yet to be determined.
