Mt San Jacinto College's Art Department will be welcoming guest speaker, Dr. William Havlicek, author of "Van Gogh's Untold Journey".
"Van Gogh's Untold Journey" is based largely on over 900 letters written by artist, Vincent Van Gogh and gives readers an insight to the type of person Van Gogh really was.
Inspired by Charles Dickens and Victor Hugo, Van Gogh's work had been influenced by the words of these great literary giants. One such character of Hugo's inspired Van Gogh's most celebrated paintings, "The Starry Night".
Dr. Havlicek has over 40 years experience in fine art/studio production and exhibition, college teaching, publishing, and museum administration.
The event will take place on Nov. 4, at Mt. San Jacinto College's Menifee Valley Campus, room 927, from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. It is free to attend and is open to students, staff, and the general public.
For more information, contact John Seed, Dept. Chair in Art, at 951-639-5580 or at jseed@msjc.edu.
