Menifee Offers Programs to Honor Military Loved Ones

Have you ever noticed the banners along Newport Road or on Menifee Road that honor members of our military?

The Military Banner Program offers residents the chance to buy a commemorative banner for a loved one who is a veteran or active duty member of the armed forces who resides in the city of Menifee. These banners feature a photo of the honored military member and are hung on light poles throughout the city.

The cost of a banner is $100 and includes installation.

"This is a personal way for residents to honor Menifee residents who have served and are currently serving our country," explained City Manager Rob Johnson. "It puts a local face on the sacrifices being made on our behalf."

In addition to the banner program, the city has a Menifee Veterans Memorial Buy-a-Brick Program. Community members and businesses have the opportunity to purchase a brick with their loved one's name, family name, business or organization's name etched into the memorial's grounds.

Bricks will cost $75 and are sold on a first come, first served basis. Proceeds from the sales will help raise funds to maintain the Menifee Veterans Memorial at Wheatfield Park.
