A 17-year-old from Wildomar was arrested in Menifee after a car chase through three cities this morning, police said this afternoon.
No other information was given about the driver because the suspect is a juvenile. The suspect was arrested for vehicle theft, possession of stolen property and felony evading, and was eventually transported to Southwest Juvenile Hall.
At approximately 6 a.m. today, an officer was patrolling on Bundy Canyon Road near Oak Circle Drive when he observed a maroon Infinity that was reported stolen out of the city of Wildomar earlier in the morning, police said.
The officer attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop on the Infinity, but the driver of the stolen vehicle fled and a vehicle pursuit began. The driver of the stolen vehicle proceeded on surface streets into the city of Lake Elsinore and then into Menifee.
Officers from the Menifee Police Department assumed control of the vehicle pursuit. The driver of the stolen vehicle was subsequently apprehended without incident near the intersection of Bradley Road and School Park Road, near Lyle Marsh Park and Chester W. Morrison Elementary School.
Anyone having further knowledge or information pertaining to this case is encouraged to contact Officer James Martinez at the Wildomar Police at 951-245-3300, or after hours at 951-776-1099.
