A big crowd gathered at Wheatfield Park Wednesday night for the second annual Menifee 24/7 Halloween Festival. Estimates of the crowd count ranged from 2,500 to 3,000 -- many of them little ones with every kind of scary, funny and cute costume imaginable.
Prizes were awarded in several age categories for individuals, plus couples, families and dogs. Kids enjoyed themselves at several carnival-style games. Menifee 24/7 advertising sponsors provided games and handed out candy. There also was a bounce house and a giant inflatable sports game complex.
Mr. Porkpie performed magic acts and there was face painting for the kids. Guests drank "witch's brew" (apple juice on dry ice) and enjoyed treats from the snack bar.
Our thanks to all who attended and to those who served as volunteers. We're working on an even bigger festival for next year!
