The Heritage High School football team extended its state-best winning streak to 17 games Friday night with a 35-7 rout of host Perris High in a Sunbelt League game.

Isaiah Morrow ran for two touchdowns (1 yard, 2 yards) and quarterback Brett Virgil passed for 2 TDs for the Patriots, who are 7-0 this season. They have won 22 consecutive league games dating back more than four years.

Virgil threw touchdown passes to Aleva Hifo (32 yards) and Jeremy Boggio (26 yards) in the third quarter, helping Heritage break open a game that stood 14-7 at halftime. Jalen Glover also ran 12 yards for a score.

Perris (5-2, 0-2) scored its only touchdown in the second quarter. The first period was scoreless.
