Blessing of Animals Set for United Church of Christ

In honor of St. Francis of Assisi, known as the patron saint of animals and whose Feast Day is in October, the United Church of Christ in Menifee will conduct a blessing of the animals at its Sunday worship service on Oct. 12.

People are invited to bring their cats, dogs, birds, etc., to be blessed during the 10 a.m. service.

"It’s always fun for the congregation, and hopefully the animals, to have people and their pets taking part in a Sunday service," said Senior Minister Bill Freeman. "God created humans and animals, so it’s good to have them come together in the house of God."

The United Church of Christ in Menifee is located at 26701 McCall Blvd. All are welcome.
