A Temecula man was arrested early Saturday for assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly assaulted his mother, then attacked police officers.
Officers from the Temecula Police Department responded to a residence within the 31100 block of Tecumseh Court at 7:43 a.m. on the report of a family disturbance. The caller reported that her son, Aaron Paul Graves, 30, had assaulted her at the residence.
The officers arrived at the location within minutes and attempted to make contact with Graves after he fled into a bedroom within the residence. A short time later, Graves emerged from the bedroom and attacked one of the officers.
After a lengthy altercation, Graves was placed under arrest and transported to a local hospital for medical treatment for injuries sustained during the incident. His injuries were considered non-life-threatening. The arresting officers were also injured during the incident and were treated at a local hospital and later released.
Graves, after receiving a medical clearance from the hospital, will be booked into the Southwest Detention Center for the following crimes: Assault with a deadly weapon, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, being under the influence of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, and violation of parole.
