Five arrests were made and four others were issued citations during a DUI saturation patrol conducted by the Menifee Police Department Aug. 8.
Between the hours of 7 p.m. and 3 a.m., officers sought out alcohol and drug-impaired drivers throughout the streets of Menifee in the department’s ongoing traffic safety campaign. This DUI saturation operation resulted in the following:
-- 54 vehicles were stopped
-- 12 drivers were given standardized field sobriety tests
-- 3 drivers were arrested for DUI – alcohol
-- 1 driver was arrested for possession of methamphetamine
-- 1 driver was arrested for a domestic violence arrest warrant
-- 4 drivers were cited for driving with a suspended license
The Menifee Police Department will continue to conduct DUI checkpoints and DUI saturation patrols in an ongoing effort to deter drunk/drugged driving and keep the streets safe. Funding for this program is from a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
