Menifee City Council Member John Denver has received an endorsement from the Southwest Riverside County Association of Realtors in his bid for re-election.
SRCAR Government Affairs Director Gene Wunderlich cited the progress Menifee has made during the terms served by Denver, who has been on the city council since its inception in 2008.
"We have been encouraged at the progress Menifee has made as a new city during the past six years," Wunderlich said. "Having John as a voice for private property rights on the Council has been an important factor in bringing a balanced approach to the growth the City has enjoyed and was instrumental in our decision to open an office in Menifee.
"This balanced approach has led to the robust retail growth that the City has enjoyed the past few years, combined with a sustainable housing market that has seen the median home price appreciate nearly 40 percent in the past three years."
A recent study by the Realtor Property Resource shows that "Up and Coming Families" make up over 35 percent of Menifee residents. With an annual household growth rate of 4.56 percent, "Up and Coming Families" represents Tapestry Segmentation's second highest household growth market.
"Obviously, the focus of our Association is on housing and Menifee has adopted policies that have promoted a wide variety of alternatives for residents looking to locate to the area, everything from multi-family and affordable homes to upscale estate properties, all while maintaining the rural agricultural feel that attracted many to the area initially," Wunderlich said.
"Having someone with John's understanding of planning, zoning and smart growth issues, along with the usual spectrum of city issues like infrastructure, transportation and business demands, helps the City avoid some of the pitfalls that can lead to future problems."
