Coroner Releases Identity of Menifee Man Found Dead in Car

Police gather near the car in which 29-year-old Jeffery Reber of Menifee was found dead on Tuesday, Aug. 12.

A man who was found dead inside a car parked next to the Menifee Lakes Clubhouse on Newport Road Aug. 12 has been identified by the Riverside County Coroner's Office.

The victim was identified today as Jeffery Reber, 29, of Menifee. Cause of death was not released. According to Deputy Armando Munoz of the Menifee Police Department, the investigation is ongoing and it is believed to be a suicide.

Reber's body was discovered after police received the call of a "suspicious vehicle" and responded to the parking lot at 28307 Newport Road at 5:45 p.m. The coroner removed the body about 8 p.m.

A photo of the victim's car appears to show a bullet hole in the driver's side window. Police have not released any details other than to call the death an apparent suicide.
