A special meeting of the Menifee City Council regarding the position of city attorney Aug. 23 ended with no reported action being taken.

After several hours in closed session, the meeting was adjourned with no report given to the public.

Council members are not allowed to comment on matters discussed in closed session. However, the agenda item "public employment -- city attorney" indicates one or more council members have requested a review of the current city attorney or have requested a change.

City attorney and city manager are the only two positions the city council has the authority to hire and fire.

Julie Biggs (above photo) of the law firm Aleshire & Wynder was appointed interim city attorney in December 2012. Read about her 2012 appointment here.
