Quail Valley Elementary Honored for 'Safe Routes to School'

Members of the Quail Valley Elementary School PTA and administration were honored July 22 for their support of Riverside County's "Safe Routes to School" program.

During the month of May, students were encouraged to walk and ride bikes to school as an alternative to riding in cars. This is designed to reduce traffic and auto emissions. Students at the school formed a bicycle club and a "walking school bus," where parents walked students to school in groups.

The presentation was made at the Menifee Union School District board meeting.
