Night-time freeway closures on Interstate 215 will continue next week to accommodate widening of the freeway in Menifee and at the site of the recent bridge accident in Perris.
According to officials of the I-215 Project, northbound lanes of the freeway will be closed from Newport Road to McCall Boulevard from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23. Motorists will be detoured east on Newport to Menifee Road, north to McCall and west back to the freeway.
Lane closures northbound and southbound on the 215 between Scott Road and Nuevo Road will take place from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. on July 21, 22, 24 and 25. No detour is required because at least one lane will be open each way.
In addition, full freeway closures in both directions of the 215 in Perris are planned for 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on July 21, 22 and 24. Traffic will detoured to the east on Redlands Boulevard and Nuevo Road.
Officials announced that full freeway closures may not be needed at that point each night, but motorists are cautioned to be prepared for delays.
Repair work is being done of the falsework adjacent to the Perris Boulevard bridge, which was damaged July 15 when a semi truck ran into the support beams.
