The Murrieta Police Department issued a news release this afternoon stating it has been told by Border Patrol officials there will be no flights of undocumented immigrants to San Diego the rest of the week.

The announcement stated there would be therefore be no buses arriving at the Murrieta Border Patrol station on Thursday as originally scheduled, nor the rest of the week.

No other details were given regarding whether flights into San Diego would resume next week. Earlier in the day, Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez (R-Lake Elsinore) sent a letter to Gov. Jerry Brown, asking him for assistance in helping ensure the safety of Murrieta residents.
