One driver was arrested on drug-related charges and another on alcohol-related charges June 6 during the Menifee Police Department's latest DUI saturation patrol.
Officers conducted the patrol from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Officers sought out alcohol and drug-impaired drivers throughout the streets of Menifee in the department’s ongoing traffic safety campaign.
This DUI saturation operation resulted in the following:
-- 46 vehicles were stopped
-- 19 drivers were given standardized field sobriety tests
-- 1 driver was arrested for DUI – drug
-- 1 drivers was arrested for DUI – alcohol
-- 4 drivers were cited for driving with a suspended license
According to the Menifee Police Department, DUI checkpoints and DUI saturation patrols will continue in an on-going effort to deter drunk/drugged driving and keep local streets safe. Funding for this program is from a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
