Menifee Mayor Scott Mann will deliver the annual State of the City address during a Menifee Valley Chamber of Commerce breakfast this Thursday, June 19, at 8:30 a.m. at the Menifee Lakes Country Club. The country club is located at 29875 Menifee Lakes Drive in Menifee, and the public is invited to attend.
In his presentation called "Keep Menifee Moving," Mann will discuss the city’s many accomplishments during the past year, including the completion of the Newport Road widening and Menifee Road "missing link" projects, the opening of Audie Murphy Ranch Sports Park and the completion of the city’s General Plan last December.
Mann will discuss continuing work on Menifee Moving, the city’s five-year Capital Improvement Program. He will also elaborate on current construction around Menifee and discuss the economic development team’s success in bringing more restaurants, retail outlets and amenities, including the Krikorian Premiere Theaters and bowling alley, to Menifee.
Mann is a two-time Menifee Councilman. He served on the 2008 inaugural City Council and was elected in 2012 for a two-year term as Mayor. Between his two terms on the City Council, he was a Menifee School Board Trustee.
Mann currently serves as the Director of Risk Management for the Moreno Valley Unified School District, and he owns and operates Mann Consulting, a business services consulting firm with clients in the public and private sectors. He also serves as Chief Business Official at the Hope Learning Academy of Canyon Lake, a private, non-profit secondary school that serves at-risk youth and their parents.
A retired Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy, Mann served in nine overseas deployments and is a veteran of combat operations in several wars.
Tickets for the State of the City event are $35 per person, including breakfast, and may be purchased in advance at the Menifee Valley Chamber of Commerce by calling 951-672-1991.
