Three juveniles who live in Canyon Lake were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of felony vandalism and arson in connection with several recent crime reports in that city.
During the June 10 investigation, Canyon Lake Police officers responded to several reports of vandalism on Cove View Street. Officers located several homes, vehicles and street signs that were spray painted with black paint. Racial slurs and vulgar words were painted on some vehicles, police said.
Simultaneously, an arson investigation was being conducted by Cal Fire Investigator Chris Palmer regarding a small fire set at the Canyon Lake clubhouse. It was determined the suspects who set the fire at the clubhouse were also responsible for the vandalism on Cove View Street.
A collaborative investigation between Cal Fire and the Canyon Lake Police Department quickly identified three juvenile Canyon Lake residents as the suspects. One was being investigated for several other fires set during the past two months, police said.
All three juvenile suspects were booked into Juvenile Hall.
