Stater Bros. Supermarkets today officially announced plans for its third Menifee store, to be completed by late 2015 on the southeast corner of Newport Road and Menifee Road.
Menifee 24/7 previously reported that Stater Bros. had filed an application to build a store within a commercial complex at that location, which is north of The Lakes community (left). Today's press release is the first official announcement by Stater Bros. executives, and it has been confirmed by city officials.
According to the press release from a PR firm representing Stater Bros., the "Blue Ribbon" Stater Bros. Supermarket will include 44,000 square feet of space. A grand opening is scheduled for late 2015.
"This will be the third location for Stater Bros. in the City of Menifee and demonstrates Stater Bros.’ commitment to the Menifee community it has served for over 35 years (since 1979)," the press release states.
According to the announcement, the supermarket will include full-service meat and seafood departments, a full-service bakery, full-service deli and a floral department.
The State Bros. application was the first received by the City of Menifee for the commercial complex, which officials hope also will include stores and restaurants.

While I am not totally opposed to adding a market to the west side of the 215, I would have hoped that the City of Menifee would have put additional thought and action to improving traffic congestion prior to adding this as well as the planned stuff on the east side of the 215. Did we not learn anything from Temecula and Murrieta's traffic issues?
