Menifee will honor those who died in military service during a ceremony on Monday, May 26 at noon at the Veterans Memorial in Wheatfield Park, corner of La Piedra and Menifee roads.
The ceremony will include the posting of colors by the Paloma Valley High School NJROTC Color Guard and participation by VFW Post 1956 and the Oasis Veterans Club. Master of Ceremonies will be Christopher Proctor, new commander of VFW Post 1956. Keynote speaker will be Ed Yarbrough from the Oasis Veterans Club.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, guests will be invited to set American flags around the Veterans Memorial.
Menifee was recently designed as a Purple Heart City -- an award given to cities with a strong commitment to veterans and a notable number of residents who have been awarded a Purple Heart.
