Advertorial Supplement:
Since the very beginning, Provecho Grill has always placed community service at the top of their to-do list. At the beginning of each year they carefully select local organizations that are near and dear to their hearts to reach out to and support throughout the year. One of those organizations that has touched their hearts is the Oak Grove Center for Education, Treatment, and the Arts.
The mission of the Oak Grove Center is focused on rebuilding the lives of at-risk children and their families through education, healing, and offering hope. With two local campuses that house 76 live-in students, as well as an additional 100 children attending programs each day, they cater to those with a variety of psychological, social, emotional, behavioral, medical and neurological problems.
On Saturday night, April 12, Provecho Grill has volunteered their services to participate in Oak Grove’s Evening Under the Stars fundraising silent auction and dinner benefit. For those in attendance, Provecho Grill will be hosting the dessert station featuring their delicious Arros con Leche Mexican rice pudding, Capirotada Mexican bread pudding, and other sweet goodies.
“We want to give back and learn and help raise awareness,” shares Chef and Owner Rosie O’Connor.
In touring the campus O’Connor says their eyes were opened to the many levels of different disabilities ranging from mild to severe. Through Oak Grove the Provecho staff has learned how to better work and communicate with those with differing degrees of disability. It has allowed O’Connor and her son and Provecho manager, Peter, be better managers through a better understanding of individuals.
“We believe in what the school does. They are creating a better future and opportunities for kids with autism and other disabilities,” O’Connor reiterates.
The fundraising event is expected an attendance of over 350, so come support a great cause and enjoy a night of food and fun.
