A resident of the Romoland area of Menifee was arrested in connection with a burglary at Romoland Elementary School on Wednesday.
Elias Velez, 39, was arrested following an investigation which located several pieces of stolen property, police said. A search of his residence revealed additional items stolen from the school.
The burglary occurred some time Wednesday at the school, located in the 25000 block of Antelope Road. The initial investigation revealed that an unknown subject or subjects entered the school grounds and forced entry into a classroom by breaking a window. Once inside, a projector, children's clothing, a printer and speakers were stolen.
Velez was arrested for burglary and possession of stolen property and booked into the Southwest Detention Center. Bail has not been determined.
