The Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Menifee Valley has announced that John Whann has accepted the position of Executive Director for the newly established club.
Whann has over 15 years of Boys & Girls Club experience. He started as a member at the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Springs in first grade and continued to attend the club until eighth grade. As a club alumnus and a young adult with a passion for the club, Whann studied Recreation Management at San Diego State University and received his degree in 2003.
Most recently, Whann spent more than seven years at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest County, helping to serve the youth of Temecula, Murrieta and Lake Elsinore. He has lived in Menifee for more than a decade with his wife, Amy, and their three children: Weston, Ella and Landon.
Whann's official start date is April 21. The Board, with Whann's insights and experience, will be working hard to develop a plan to open the doors and offer great programs and a great place for kids to go, said Sue Kristjansson, board chair.
