Woman Dies in Traffic Accident North of Ramona Expressway

A Perris woman died Friday afternoon in a traffic accident on Evans Road north of Ramona Expressway in Perris, police said today.

Brittany Federico, 20, was killed when her 1997 Ford Expedition left the roadway and struck a power pole abour 4:17 p.m. Her passenger, a 26-year-old male resident of Perris, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Investigators and traffic collision reconstruction experts from the Perris Police Department are investigating the circumstances of the accident. Preliminary information indicates that Federico and the driver of a Chevrolet Tahoe may have both been driving aggressively before the accident, police said.

There is no evidence that the two vehicles collided before Federico’s Expedition left the roadway, however. The driver of the Tahoe, a 55-year-old Perris resident, has been interviewed by investigators.
