Six arrests were made -- five of them for alcohol-related offenses -- during a DUI saturation patrol conducted by the Menifee Police Department Saturday night.
Officers from the department's DUI Enforcement Team conducted the patrol from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Officers sought out alcohol and drug-impaired drivers throughout the streets of Menifee in the Department’s ongoing traffic safety campaign. According to police, the DUI saturation operation resulted in the following:
-- 44 vehicles were stopped
-- 21 drivers were given standardized field sobriety tests
-- 1 driver was arrested for DUI – drug
-- 5 drivers were arrested for DUI – alcohol
-- 4 drivers were cited for driving with a suspended license
The Menifee Police Department will continue to conduct DUI checkpoints and DUI saturation patrols in an on-going effort to deter drunk/drugged driving and keep our streets safe.
Funding for this program is from a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
