Comments from residents who voted in the poll:

-- No, because it won't stop here. They will want more money from the city.

-- Doesn't have to be the full $60k. Maybe $30k, maybe $20k. Ultimately, it's something that will benefit the city as a whole, so a little city assistance would be nice in this initial phase.

-- This is a wonderful program for our kids deserving of the community's charitable support. These programs are not set up as entitlements, on the other hand. The organization is not well served when a spokesperson speaks to the city council, telling them you support our program with taxpayer money or you will be known not to support the club. Charity is giving without being asked. Not demanded.

-- This is the people's money, not Edgerton's. We expect those we elect to be good stewards and spend our money on community improvements that make our lives better. The poll that B&G did shows that there is a need, and that parents really want this. I suspect petty politics.

-- Are you kidding me? Yes, let's get this done now; what's to question??? They need to get going now. I am 64 years old and have no children or grandchildren in this area, but I support doing this. I believe the best thing the City can do is to support anything that is good for the kids. They are the future and the more that can be done to educate and protect them by providing a safe place for them to develop their potential is a good investment. I know there are so many good programs that the City of Menifee has that need help. But all of them are up and running. We need to get this one up and running too.

-- They should raise private funds. They should hold a fundraiser instead of expecting tax dollars.

-- NO. Not right now. We should take over from Valley-Wide and use those savings for the Boys and Girls Club!

-- It is called investing in your community, folks.

  1. This is a great program for our kids deserving of the communities charitable support. These programs are not set up as entitlement's on the other hand. The organization is not well served when a spokesperson speaks to the city council telling them you support our program with tax payer money or you will be known not to support the club. Charity is giving without being asked. Not demanded.

Thank you so much for this. A lot of kids don't obey any traffic laws and think they own the right of way when ridding. They definitely need to be educated on rules of the road.
