Police Find Drugs, Illegal Fireworks Inside Car in Wildomar

Two people were arrested Friday after Wildomar police discovered methamphetamine and an illegal mortar-type firework in a car during a traffic stop.

An officer on patrol stopped a blue Kia Rio for an equipment violation at about 2:30 a.m. Friday in the 22100 block of Bundy Canyon Road. A records check revealed the driver was on felony probation for a narcotic-related offense and the passenger had an active felony warrant. They were taken into custody.

A probation search of the vehicle was conducted using a police service K-9, and methamphetamine was located inside the vehicle. Additionally, a D.O.T. class "B" mortar type firework was located inside the vehicle. The Sheriff's Hazardous Device Team subsequently took possession of the firework.

Jeffrey Jay Fleming, 43, of Santa Ana, was arrested for violation of parole, with pending misdemeanor charges of possession of a Division 1.3 firework. Kimberly Ann Holguin, 39, of Canyon Lake, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Both suspects were transported to the Southwest Detention Center.
