A Menifee man was arrested for commercial burglary Monday night after officers found him attempting to leave a local grocery store with stolen prescription medication, police said today.
Scott Stivers, 31, was apprehended without incident as he attempted to flee the Vons store in the 27000 block of Sun City Boulevard. Officers were responding to the call of a commercial burglary at 8:09 p.m.
Store employees reported that the pharmacy was closed and a man was inside the pharmacy, stealing prescription medication. The investigation after Stivers' arrest determined that Stivers forced entry into the pharmacy and stole the prescription drugs. Stivers was in possession of large quantities of prescription medication, as well as burglary tools. He was booked into a local jail.
