A Murrieta man died Tuesday after his motorcycle crashed into a delivery truck in Lake Elsinore.
According to Lake Elsinore police, witnesses stated the truck was turning into a parking lot near the intersection of Riverside Drive and Joy Street when the motorcycle attempted an illegal pass on the right.
Police said the motorcycle drove into the side of the truck and skidded to a stop underneath the truck. The driver, 34-year-old Matthew Schrader, was transported to a regional medical center with various life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
The driver of the truck did not exhibit any signs of intoxication and volunteered a blood sample, police said.
