More than 20 students participated in the Mt. San Jacinto College Registered Nursing Unit Pinning Ceremony on Dec. 20.
During the Pinning Ceremony, newly graduating nurses receive a pin that symbolizes a welcome into the profession. Faculty member Donivee Jones, a registered nurse, welcomed the students and their family members. Dr. Kathleen Winston, dean of Nursing and Allied Health and also a registered nurse, provided introductions. Dr. Patrick Schwerdtfeger, vice president of Instruction, was the guest speaker.
Student speakers Samantha Schultz and Shelly Toon offered their reflections and Rae Brooks, faculty member and registered nurse, presented the graduates with their pins.
Dr. Peter Zografos, an assistant director in Nursing & Allied Health, provided the ceremonies closing by reading the Nursing Pledge.
