A custom-built nativity scene stolen from a home in Temecula turned up at a residence in Canyon Lake, police said today.

Last Monday, Dec. 9, the Temecula Police Department investigated a theft of the nativity scene. On Friday, Dec. 13, officers assigned to the Temecula Police Department Problem Oriented Policing (POP) Team received information of the possible whereabouts of the stolen items.

POP officers responded to an address in the 22000 block of Sparkle Drive in Canyon Lake. Their investigation revealed that the nativity scene at the location belonged to the victim in this case. The property was returned to the victim and additional follow-up investigation is being conducted.
