Mayor, Santa Welcome Christmas at Tree Lighting Ceremony

Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived at Menifee City Hall in a fire engine for the tree lighting Friday night.

A large crowd turned out Friday night at Menifee City Hall for the annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony.

Mayor Scott Mann threw the switch as darkness fell, lighting up the large Christmas tree in front of the city facility on Haun Road. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived in a fire engine to greet the children and snow was brought in for the occasion.

The Paloma Valley High School band performed and several of the city princesses were on hand to join in the festivities.
