Advertorial Supplement:
Often the mere mention of the dentist can bring children to tears. So Dr. Ruth Bol of The Children’s Dental Practice of Menifee has made it her personal mission to change that by helping ensure children build a positive association with the dentist from their very first visit.
Using a combination of state of the art methods and techniques including the latest in sedation medication, psychology and technology The Children’s Dental Practice is able to provide the highest quality care for all of their patients. Her practice prides themselves in putting little mouths and tiny patients at ease.
The kid friendly waiting room immediately entices children to feel at ease. Featuring a television tuned to Nickelodeon, iPad stations fully equipped with kid-friendly and parent approved apps, and two video gaming recliners for Playstation video games, kids will actually be excited to take a trip to this dentist.
The inviting and non-clinical look and feel of the practice extends to the actual dress of the staff as well. Dr. Bol and her employees have traded in the traditional lab coat and scrubs for more fashionable athletic wear.
"Dentistry is still a top fear, right alongside death and public speaking," Bol shares, "My passion is to prevent and treat this fear. It makes me happy to bring joy to others."
Born to missionary parents she grew up in Bakersfield, California along side four siblings. Her father, who is half Comanche Indian, and her mother worked as supervisors of the Men and Women’s Shelter in the Bakersfield Rescue Mission.
From growing up at the mission Bol naturally began to want to assist others and to focus her career in the public service arena. She worked on the reservation as a general dentist and realized she could best help children adjust to dental visits from the very beginning.
From her own first hand experience she had witnessed the widespread use of restraints to hold patients down during dental procedures, and has seen the terror both children and adults harbor for the dentist. She wanted to turn the negative association around by using alternative methods that are conducive to a positive dental experience and vowed to make a serious change when starting her own practice.
As a specialized pediatric dentist, Dr. Bol has completed an additional three years of training to be become an expert and advocate for children and adolescents in dentistry, as opposed to a general dentist. She attended a two-year Pediatric Residency at UCLA and completed the Master Program in Public Health.
Her extensive training in psychology and behavior management has helped her in her research to utilize only the best cutting-edge sedation procedures to help children and adolescents through difficult surgical procedures. Combined with her core beliefs in public service and bringing joy to others, Bol has built a dental environment that children genuinely enjoy.
Another friendly face and key component at The Children’s Dental Practice of Menifee is her dog and resident therapy dog, Deogy. As a registered therapy dog, Deogy brings happiness and comfort to young patients.
Dr. Ruth Bol and her staff take great pride in being involved with their community and are committed to giving your children the very best care. She chose to establish her practice in Menifee because of the small, close-knit community feel.
"I really put an emphasis on relationships," she shares, "This is also why I am not part of a franchise."
In addition to running her thriving practice she also continues to deepen her relationship with the city by serving on the Rotary Club board, being involved in the Arts Council Menifee, and frequently attending Chamber of Commerce events.
