Recognize this stretch of road? It's the low point of Bradley Road as it crosses Salt Creek, between Rio Vista Drive and Potomac Drive in Menifee, in a photo taken last winter. If you're a regular around here, you will recognize this sign of flooding at that location during a rainstorm. And guess what? A big rainstorm is only hours away.
This location is on the list of road improvements scheduled by the City of Menifee. As described on the city's website, an $8 million project to build improved culverts to handle storm run-off on that road is scheduled for for 2015. Meanwhile, drivers are urged to drive safely and slowly through that area -- and all potentially hazardous road locations -- during rainstorms, and always, for that matter.
The Newport Road Widening Project, which was ahead of the Bradley Road project on the priority list, is still a few weeks from completion. Please drive carefully through that area as well.
